CPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa kamal Dahal (Prachanda) is elected as the prime minister of Nepal. Prachanda is the first Prime Minister of Republic of Nepal as an elected from Constituent Assembly (CA). After his election, four month long deadlock and the uncertainty is ended up.
Nepali Congress tried to make a coalition to form the government against Maoist like in the Presidential election despite NC’s size less than half of the Maoist in the CA. Prachanda secured 464 votes and NC leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has got 113 votes out of total 577. Some left parties and the rightist parties boycotted the voting. Maoist led alliance has got more than two third of the vote in the CA. For two-third there must be 397 vote but he has got 67 votes than the needed for two-third.
 
This is big blow to the US imperialism and a section of Indian expansionism. It is learnt that a section of Indian rulers want Prachanda into power. As many news and observers speculated some of the Maoist leadership is under Indian careerist.
 
We congratulate to the Prachanda and his party for being elected the first Prime minister of Democratic Republic of Nepal for the success of working period and hope that he would led to build new Nepal in a real sense.
 
CPN Maoist has blamed NC for trying to hang the peace process and failure of national consensus. NC is leading at the present to the backward forces against the progressives.
